All parents, just like teachers, want their children to be successful in school. For some students, such as students with disabilities, success in school can prove to be a more challenging task than it is for other students. Numerous laws, such as the reauthorization of IDEA in 1997, were devised to help all students succeed in school, especially students with disabilities. The purpose of this inservice and manual is to provide parents with knowledge about the state test, testing accommodations, and how parents can be involved in the selection of the best accommodations for their child.
